DAVID Staehr was full of praise for the riverfront course after he won the inaugural Mildura Marathon on Sunday.

The Kaniva runner clocked 2 hours 43 minutes for the 42.2km journey, where runners set off from opposite the Powerhouse Precinct before taking in the parkrun course, then covering a further 7.55km on the riverfront trail beyond Apex Park.
