MILDURA Rural City Council is seeking feedback on a concept design for a new park at Koorlong.
Situated at the intersection of Benetook Avenue and Twenty First Street, construction of the Koorlong park is scheduled to get under way in the 2023-24 financial year, subject to approval and budget allocation.
A concept plan has now been released for public comment following community feedback about what items the park might include and what it would look like.
The concept design came with prerequisites including shade and trees, landscaping and park furniture.
All public open spaces are classified based on their location, size and local population, which helps guide the level of development, infrastructure and landscape features to ensure they are suitable and appropriate.
The new Koorlong park is classified as a local park and therefore requires a grassed "kick-about" area, furniture, shade and feature trees, water-sensitive urban design and crime prevention through environmental design.
The council wants to gauge whether the concept plan accurately captures and incorporates community ideas and expectations.
Those interested in commenting about the concept design can do so at the council website, call a member of the project team on 5018 8100 or email a member of the project team at [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected].
Feedback can be made until Friday, January 6, 2023.
