MILDURA Heat kept their Country Basketball League finals hopes alive by burning the Echuca Pirates by 33 points on the weekend.

Heat fell 10 points short of grand-final glory to the Pirates last season but managed to exact some revenge with a five-point win against the reigning premiers in an epic round-two showdown.
