Sydney strippers to bare all in Red Cliffs

IT was by chance that Paul Reynolds landed himself a career as a male entertainer.

The Sydney Hotshots owner was studying musical theatre when he was approached to fill the role of Luke Skywalker in a production, little did he know he had just signed up for his first strip show.

Reynolds found his calling and first played Man Max touring with Manpower before bringing the Sydney Hotshots to the stage in 1996.

This weekend, the experienced performer is bringing the Sydney Hotshots to Red Cliffs.

"Women can expect there will be a lot of comedy, a lot of eye candy, a lot of interaction if they want to be involved and get up on stage and exciting guys with big personalities that are going to spoil them like crazy," he said.

Reynolds said there has been some major changes in the industry since the release of Magic Mike in 2012.

"It has really developed since the Magic Mike movie came along, it really shed some light on it and the stigma of the sleazy stripper is gone," he said.

"Now we have some really talented people in our troupes, people with performance ability and the way it has changed is it is now more of a performance.

"It's more entertaining for the girls and we have to cover all ages and have to cover girls that like all different things.

"We have to chuck in everything, we have the good looking guys, the acrobatics, we have the dancing, the theatre themes, all the costumes, lights and fun on stage."

Reynolds said his performers come from varied backgrounds.

"We have everything from physiotherapists through to real firemen and real policemen to men who have come from overseas, who have finished their university degree that are looking to see the country and get paid for it," he said.

"We have all types of people and we just look for men who are really nice, have good personalities and who know how to relate to women."

The Sydney Hotshots will be performing live at The Reddy Pub on Saturday, November 2 at 7.30pm.
