FORMER Mildura mayor, sportsman, surveyor and cherished family man Peter Danson lost his 12-month battle with motor neurone disease on Monday.

Mr Danson is being remembered as a "dearly loved husband" and "best dad ever", a Sunraysia Cricket Association Innes medallist and multiple Merbein South Cricket Club (MSCC) champion.
