MILLEWA farmers have welcomed the Victorian Government's $31 million drought relief package, however believe community consultation is vital to ensure funding was delivered to the "areas that most need it".

Sheep and cereal farmer Peter Lambert of Meringur North said the funding announcement was a "good effort and a good start".
