AN Irymple man tried to get a letter to a woman he is alleged to have seriously injured in an assault before an anticipated day-long committal hearing over the matter, a court has been told.

The hearing was yesterday due to be held before evidence in relation to a new charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice was served on defence counsel.
