SUNRAYSIA'S first fully qualified kindergarten teacher and Red Cliffs' earliest maternal and baby health sister have been recognised with the naming of laneways in their honour.

Special dispensation was sought, and approved, to earmark the naming of a Red Cliffs laneway after Mary Lewis before her death last month. She was said to have been "very honoured" by the recommendation.
