Cross-border agreement on need for river flows

MILDURA Council has thrown its support behind a push by its New South Wales counterpart to protect the flow of water in the lower Darling River.

Wentworth Shire Council this month demanded the NSW and federal Water Ministers instigate an immediate water embargo to capitalise on recent rainfall in the northern Basin and flush poor-quality water out of the river.
