MILDURA is heading for a wet start to spring, with unseasonal rain to set in by mid-week.

The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast four days of rain, peaking on Thursday, with a forecast total of up to 24mm.

On Wednesday, while the mercury is set to reach 23 degrees, a 70 per cent chance of showers is forecast, with 2-8mm expected to fall on Mildura.
