Darling-Baaka dual name proposal wins shire support

WENTWORTH Shire Council has formally supported the Darling River taking a second, indigenous name, Baaka.

Councillor Jane MacAllister put forward a motion last December to support the dual-name proposal, but the council resolved it be brought back to February's meeting while the NSW Government's Geographical Names Board provided more information about public submissions.
