THIS year’s 33rd Mildura Country Music Festival is likely to be the last.

The festival has pumped an estimated $200 million into the local economy over the three decades, however festival co-ordinator John Arnold said the event, in its current form, was no longer sustainable.

Mr Arnold, who has been involved in running the festival since its infancy, said the event had been “swaying a little bit” in recent years but remained strongly supported, largely by visitors to the region.
