IT started four decades ago with a quiet cup of tea at St Michael’s Church, Buronga.

Nowadays, Sunraysia’s Feast of Saint Rocco is one of the biggest events on the Italian community’s calendar – attracting about 500 devotees from across the region and beyond for two days of food and entertainment.

Festivities kick off in Irymple on Saturday night with a dinner and dance, before Sunday’s procession, mass and shared, free meal comprising pasta, zippuli and other Italian delights.
