MILDURA police say a new family violence risk assessment and management tool is paying early dividends in keeping victims safer and holding more perpetrators to account.
The new Family Violence Report (FVR) was rolled out in Mildura last month following a 12-month planning process to establish a family violence-specific investigation unit in the region.
Police are now able complete reports, including the new FVR, in the field as soon as possible after an incident, allowing them to make referrals immediately.
