Overtaken by drugs: Alcohol no longer main concern on Sunraysia roads – police

TWO motorists a week are being caught drug-driving in Sunraysia and the scourge is only getting worse, police say.

Mildura highway patrol Sergeant Mark McDonald yesterday said 44 positive tests had been recorded to the end of July this year, however that figure did not include 38 drug-drivers nabbed during a cross-border operation last month.

Police screened more than 3000 drivers during the weekend operation, with the majority of positive tests for methamphetamine, or ice.
