Schools get the story about life on the land

AGRICULTURAL magnate John Nicoletti says he hopes to shore up the future of the industry he loves by donating $400,000 worth of books that highlight Australian primary producers to schools.

Nine schools in Sunraysia will be among 2000 across every state and territory in Australia to receive a two-book set of Alice Mabin’s The Grower series – representing the largest private donation to the education system.

Mr Nicoletti, who grew up in a marginal area in the wheat belt of Western Australia, said he had probably seen more droughts than good years.
