IMPERIALS coach Adam Hartlett says his side will need to be prepared for a hostile welcome to Henshilwood Oval later this month after securing a SFNL semi-final berth against Irymple.

With their 73-point win over Merbein on Saturday and Robinvale Euston’s loss to Wentworth, the Green and Whites cannot move from second spot no matter what happens this weekend in round 18, meaning they play the Swallows on August 31 for direct passage into the grand final.

After the two sides’ spiteful encounter in round 14, resulting in an AFL Victoria investigation into Irymple’s Dan Coghlan and Nick Mee and Imperials’ Luke Sicker and Colby Hards, the semi-final is sure to be a tense affair.
