Winter chill brings out layers

COLD weather has forced Sunraysia residents to rug up over an unusually chilly start to August. 

The cold front swept across Mildura on Thursday, bringing strong wind gusts, frost, rainfall and temperatures that struggled to reach double digits. 

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) recorded a maximum of 12C to mark the first day of August, and there were tops of 14C on Saturday and Sunday.
