SUNRAYSIA Institute of TAFE has been ordered to reinstate a teacher after the Fair Work Commission found his sacking for naming a local farmer during a class session was harsh and unjust.
Russell Wakefield had been employed as a TAFE teacher from August 2017 until December 12, 2018, when he was dismissed for alleged serious misconduct.
The Fair Work Commission hearing was told Mr Wakefield named the local farmer while explaining to his students, by way of example, an event that had taken place years earlier.
