BUSINESSES sourcing workers through unlicensed hire providers will cop hefty fines in upcoming months as Victoria’s Labour Hire Authority cracks down on dodgy hire contractors.

Labour hire licensing commissioner Steve Dargavel will deliver a free information session for local providers and hosts this month in the lead-up to licensing changes, which will come into effect on October 30.

The session aims to provide valuable insight into the objectives of the Labour Hire Authority, as well as information on what the scheme means for businesses, key dates and obligations.
