IF you’ve been watching the World Cup in England over the past month, you could be tricked into thinking the sport of cricket is in good shape.

But dig beneath that glamorous surface, where players are making millions and the viewing audiences are strong, and there are worrying signs for the sport.

Participation rates across Australia are in continuing decline, particularly at junior level.
