New ties from macrame

THE final Friday of the Victorian school holidays was an “unforgettable” day for a group of Sunraysia teenagers who proudly took home a handmade macrame wall hanging.

The free event at Mildura Arts Centre was extremely popular and was the first teenage-­focused workshop to completely book out.

Mallee Threads owner Jess Orr taught the group “everything from the origin of macrame to different knotting techniques and beyond”.
