A VOLUNTEER-run Mildura radio service that has provided vision-impaired residents with vital news and information for more than 20 years is facing the axe.

Vision Australia Radio studio in Langtree Avenue will send its final broadcast in coming months unless the Federal Government commits to ongoing funding.

The radio service, operated by Vision Australia, ensures people with a print disability have access to a wide range of printed material that may otherwise be off-limits, as well as providing original Mildura programming tailored to their needs and interests.
