Retailers set for tax cut windfall

MILDURA Central retailers are anticipating an influx of shoppers looking to spend their extra $1000 this tax season.

In the wake of the Coalition’s $158 billion tax package, which passed Federal Parliament last Thursday, low and middle-income earners could see an extra $1000 when they file their 2018-19 tax returns.

Mildura Central centre manager Leigh Fuller said store owners were “very attuned to what’s about to happen” and were bringing forward sales and undertaking extra promotions to ensure they were on the front foot.
