Wentworth Shire rate rise on agenda

WENTWORTH residents may face a rate rise of 2.7 per cent after tonight’s Wentworth Shire Council meeting.

The rate rise, determined by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal of NSW (IPART), was recommended in Wentworth Shire Council’s Draft Operational Plan and is set to be adopted for the next financial year.

An increase of 2.7 per cent in sewer access charges and domestic waste charges is proposed, while water access and consumption fees will remain the same.
