MILDURA ratepayers will be slugged with a 2.5 per cent rate increase if Mildura Council adopts the 2019-20 budget draft at tonight’s meeting.
The rate rise is the maximum allowed under the Victorian Government’s Fair Go Rates system and will provide a surplus of $18.7 million for the next financial year.
The council will spend $44 million to deliver community projects during 2019-20, including $17.6 million on building projects, $10.7 million on roads, $2.6 million on drainage upgrades, $2.5 million on beautifying streetscapes and $1.5 million on waste management.
