Water projects gifted

THE Federal Government yesterday announced $129 million in funding for southern Murray-Darling Basin infrastructure projects it says will deliver 605 gigalitres for productive use for farmers and irrigators.

Water Resources Minister David Littleproud announced funding for 17 projects including design and approval of the contentious Menindee Lakes Project and engagement with the lower Darling community.

The projects are part of the Sustainable Diversion Limit (SDL) scheme, with seven in NSW, nine in Victoria and one in South Australia.
