THE Nationals candidate Anne Webster will wait until the official Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) declaration before claiming victory in the seat of Mallee.

Some 26 days after the May 18 federal election, the distribution of preferences was continuing on Thursday.

But it emerged Dr Webster had moved into a seemingly unbeatable position after the Liberal Party’s Serge Petrovich was eliminated before Labor’s Carole Hart.
