FARMERS around the Mallee town of Murrayville were the big winners from sporadic rainfall that fell across the region yesterday.
Residents in the farming community near the South Australian border were rejoicing after more than 35mm of rain fell throughout yesterday morning giving growers a much-needed boost to winter crops.
One Murrayville resident yesterday said about 30mm of rain fell across the area to 8am yesterday with a “minimum” effective total of 35mm.
