MILDURA is the setting for best-selling Australian author Victoria Purman’s latest novel.
The Land Girls follows the journey of three “land girls”, sharing a part of history that the author described as “often forgotten”.
The inspiration behind the book came while Purman was researching the Australian Women’s Land Army, formed during World War II to overcome labour shortages in the farming sector resulting from many men going to fight overseas.
