A SOCIAL media post by Mildura councillor Gavin Sedgmen has been labelled “unbecoming of our elected representative” after he boasted on Facebook about an unruly in-flight “party”.

Gender equality councillor Helen Healy condemned Cr Sedgmen’s post of June 2 in which he described turning the galley into “party central” with a “lesbian”, “Aussie chick” and “Phillipino guy” which led to the captain turning on the seat belt sign to shut it down.

“Whilst I am not friends with Cr Sedgmen on Facebook, the post has been brought to my attention and I think it’s dishonourable behaviour, unbecoming of our elected representative, to boast about being drunk and disorderly – causing concern for airline staff on an international flight – with what he refers to as ‘lesbians, chicks and phillipinos’,” Cr Healy said.
