STUDENTS from seven schools across Sunraysia converged on the Deakin Trade and Training Centre to get their hands dirty in a variety of potential careers.

From mixing mocktails to working on engines, Year 9 and 10 students participated in two-hour workshops focusing on automotive, building and construction, electrical, engineering, furniture making, hospitality and kitchen operations.

Mildura Senior College VET co-ordinator Linda Snoxall said the students jumped at the chance to get involved in the annual event, with 86 students from Merbein P-10 College, Chaffey Secondary College, Red Cliffs Secondary College, St Joseph’s College, Henderson College, Irymple Secondary College and Trinity Lutheran College.
