Healthy exercise on National Walk Safely to School Day

STUDENTS across Sunraysia were encouraged to walk to school to keep fit and active yesterday.

As a community initiative celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, National Walk Safely to School Day aims to raise awareness of health, road safety and child well-being.

Pedestrian Council of Australia chairman Harold Scruby said lack of physical activity was a major risk factor for children and they should have 60 minutes of “huff and puff” activity each day.
