Shire appoints new general manager

KEN Ross has been appointed the new general manager of Wentworth Shire Council, it was announced today. 

Mr Ross has served in the acting position since the retirement of former general manager, Peter Kozlowski, in August last year.

He is also the council's current director of health and planning.  

Mayor Melisa Hederics said Mr Ross was a strong leader with the ability to strategically plan.

"I believe that Mr Ross will bring these qualities, and more, to the role," Cr Hederics said. 

"We had a highly credentialed list of candidates who were interviewed for the position and the decision to appoint Mr Ross was supported by the majority of councillors." 

Mr Ross will commence in the role on Monday.
