Wentworth Shire residents to cop maximum rate rise

WENTWORTH Shire ratepayers will be slugged a proposed maximum allowable rate increase of 2.7 per cent set by a NSW independent regulatory and pricing tribunal.

The rate rise has been recommended in Wentworth Shire Council’s draft operational plan for the 2019-20 financial year, to be voted on at tomorrow’s meeting to go on public exhibition.

The 2.7 per cent maximum increase determined by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal of NSW (IPART) is higher than the 2.5 per cent rate rise outlined in Mildura Council’s budget last week.
