RAMSAY Health Care has made a $13 million pitch to continue managing Mildura Base Hospital for the next 10 years.
The proposal was made to the Victorian Government in January and includes $9 million towards the construction of a 16 single-bed ward and upgrading the hospital’s sterilising department as well as ongoing capital investment.
Other commitments include:
• $2 million contribution to clinical training;
• $1 million contribution to Hands Up Mallee and its work with the socially disadvantaged.
• Further $1 million towards positions focused on community health and community relations activities; and
• A commitment to negotiate changing the community management model structure to ensure more open scrutiny of the hospital’s performance locally.
