A LARGE blaze near Colignan that destroyed several cars and caravans took 10 fire crews several hours to bring under control at the weekend.
Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic) district manager Phil Murdoch said the vehicles and caravans were parked near each other in a group at Mansell’s Bend when a fire started in one of the caravans about 3.30pm Friday.
It then spread to the other vehicles, destroying two boat trailers, two caravans, a campervan, a mobile cool room, several generators and also burned a hectare of bushland.
