A $5.93 MILLION investment in new research on the benefits of good management of dams and shelterbelts is expected to help boost farm productivity.
Putting native vegetation and entry points around dams meant stock grew faster on cleaner, cooler water, Federal Minister for Agriculture David Littleproud said.
The project, which will also measure the biodiversity benefits of farm dams and shelterbelts, will be conducted on 15,500 farms.
