Licence ‘not bad’

THE Victorian Government says reputable employers have “nothing to fear” from the imminent Labour Hire Licensing Act.

Sunraysia farmers have raised concerns the scheme could cause an exodus of seasonal labour from the region and the government’s assurance follows Member for Mildura Ali Cupper’s call to delay the implementation of the scheme.

The Act will require labour hire providers to apply for a licence and will force farmers to use only licensed providers.
