ABOUT two-thirds of the Robinvale community is opposed to the sale of council-owned land for commercial development, according to Swan Hill Rural City Council.
A spokesperson for the council told Sunraysia Daily that almost 80 community members had had their say by public submission so far.
“As submissions haven’t closed we don’t have exact numbers of for and against, but it looks like there’s (about) two-thirds against the sale,” the spokesperson said.
The potential sale of the residentially zoned land has been a talking point for locals after a commercial developer approached the council to buy the land to establish a Subway franchise.
