MILDURA Settlers start warm favourites in Friday night’s Sunraysia Cricket Association women’s grand final against Nichols Point Green at Sarah Oval.

However captain Steph Nicholson-Leask said the minor premiers, who lost just one match for the season, had a healthy respect for their opponents.

Settlers have the grand final pedigree, finishing runners-up last season in controversial fashion after a tie with Merbein South (under SCA rules in the event of a tie the higher-ranked team wins the flag) and premiers the season before.
