MORE than 20 Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) staff will be based in Mildura in a move the Federal Government says will better connect the agency with communities in the southern part of the basin.

Local Government and Decentralisation Minister Senator Bridget McKenzie said the decentralisation move was a win for the Mildura economy.

“It means sustainable career pathways not just for those here locally, but it will bring new residents into the community to live here, to send their kids to school and the multiplier effect for the local economy will be incredibly successful,” Senator McKenzie said.
