Sunraysia solar to charge new interstate electricity grid plan

SUNRAYSIA solar farms would export power to South Australia and New South Wales if a proposed $1.52 billion electricity interconnector is built.

SA network service provider ElectraNet yesterday released its report into Project EnergyConnect, which plans to link the SA and NSW energy grids.

Its preferred option was for a new 330kV interconnector between Robertstown in SA and Wagga Wagga, going via Buronga, along with a new double circuit 220kV line from Buronga to Red Cliffs.
