WORLD champion skier Chelsea Blight and her Merc Force team won, but just missed out on beating their own record at the weekend’s Southern 80 event in Echuca.

The Mildura Ski Club member and her fellow world championship teammate Maddison Boyer skied behind Merc Force to win the Open Women’s Expert class in 0:33:16, just 1.5 seconds slower than the mark Blight and Boyer set behind Merc Force F1 last year.

The Hedley family’s Hedake, with Brett Jenkins driving, Nathan Hedley observing and Cambelle Hedley and Mildura Ski Club president Geoff Thomson’s daughter Sophie skiing took out the inaugural Under 18 girls expert class – although they were the only boat running.
