MILDURA Base Hospital returning to public management is far from a fait accompli and cannot be taken for granted, Mildura MP Ali Cupper warns.

Ms Cupper this week met with Health Minister Jenny Mikakos during the first sitting week of Victorian Parliament to discuss the Future Health Care Needs of Mildura consultation process and the hospital management issue.

“When the consultation was announced I thought that must have been an indicator that they were leaning towards bringing it back into public management, but after the meeting with the minister, she was open to hearing the case, but I got the impression that her position was far more neutral than I’d hoped,” Ms Cupper said yesterday.
