THE drought has accelerated deterioration of dirt roads on which local farmers are relying to bring in fodder for their livestock.

Wentworth Shire councillor Steve Heywood yesterday said heavy vehicles, such as B-double trucks loaded with hay, were becoming stuck on damaged roads.

“In the Pooncarie area, they are carting a lot of fodder in to feed the stock,” he said.
