REGIONAL Roads Victoria says construction will begin mid-year to fix two of Mildura’s worst intersections, including one that was the scene of a fatal collision last Friday.

A single lane roundabout will be installed at the intersection of the Calder Highway, Deakin Avenue and Seventeenth Street in coming months, in an attempt to reduce the risk and severity of crashes at the site.

The intersection has long been labelled one of the worst in the region as the scene of numerous crashes including a collision last Friday night that killed an 85-year-old great-grandfather and an 81-year-old woman in 2016.
