LETTER: There is worth in tourists passing through Mildura

Here is how I understand the council sees things.

There may not be a place for self-contained caravans and motorhomes in town, but if someone set up a caravan park situation and charged them to stay then it could be done even though this drives them to other places.

So this means the council would rather take most of the visitor’s budget and give it to one business or person rather than encouraging them to stay and spend it around the town.

Businesses must be thanking the council in Maryborough, Queensland, as in return for showing business dockets other than fuel, food, gambling within town, they can stop for free for so many hours.
