A MEMORIAL service will be held at Henderson Park this Sunday on the 55th anniversary of the sinking of the HMAS Voyager at Jervis Bay on the south coast of New South Wales.
Eighty-two people were killed including 14 officers, 67 sailors and one civilian when the HMAS Voyager and HMAS Melbourne collided on February 10, 1964.
Most died immediately or were trapped in the heavy bow section of the Voyager, while the Melbourne, although damaged, suffered no fatalities.
