NSW Opposition Leader Michael Daley has written to the South Australian premier to express his concerns about a delay in the release of the Murray-Darling Basin Royal Commission (MDBRC) report to spare NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian further political damage.
The MDBRC said it had asked the government to release the report immediately after its delivery to the Attorney-General’s Department to meet the public interest in the matter.
Communities along the Barwon-Darling river system have expressed concerns to Mr Daley that the release of the report would be delayed by the SA Government to spare the NSW Government further potential embarrassment over its handling of the Darling River and Menindee Lakes.
